First of all, the PTA would like to extend an enormous THANK YOU to the folks that took the time to respond to our recent Fundraiser Survey!  It was incredibly helpful and we reviewed your comments during our last PTA meeting.  Based on feedback and the identified need in the school the PTA will be requesting quotes on an electronic reader board to help the school effectively communicate with parents and community members.

We recently sent home envelopes containing fundraising materials for our spring fundraiser, which will be a Papa John's Fundraising Card!  This card hasn't been offered in Billings in several years, so the opportunity to see a lot of sales is huge!  Our goal is to sell 400 cards, but more cards are available if demand is high! The value on these cards is pretty high, and they can be used in Montana, Idaho, Colorado and South Dakota.

If you have any questions on the cards please email bitterrootpta@hotmail.com.  Envelopes with money collected are due back by 5/7 (no school 5/4).  Checks should be made payable to Bitterroot PTA.

The Bitterroot PTA has been hard at work this year with our fundraising efforts, but the biggest problem we're facing is finding a worthy cause for our fundraising efforts!  We need YOUR help!

The PTA has put together a survey to get your feedback about fundraising.  We'd love to hear from teachers and parents/family members with ideas about fundraising opportunities, as well as ideas on ways we can spend our funds to improve the lives of the students of Bitterroot Elementary.

Classroom Carnival March 23rd 2018

Time: 6pm - 8pm

It's back! The wonderful staff of Bitterroot Elementary are once again offering a great variety of fun booths with games, snacks, fun and prizes! Please bring cash for faster ticket purchase (it's a FUNdraiser); the PTA is also securing a card reader in case you don't carry cash!


This fundraiser helps provide funds for activities, buses, supplies, etc. that benefit students. The teachers themselves do all the work to earn their funds for their booth, and the PTA helps coordinate the raffle baskets. 

Donation requests were sent home last week, and the PTA is in need of these donations to help put together another batch of AMAZING raffle baskets! Don't have time to shop? No problem! If you can spare any amount we would greatly appreciate any denomination (even $1 helps!). Please drop donations that can't be sent with your student at the front desk, Mrs. Z will make sure we get it!

Saturday Live Recap

The Bitterroot PTA braved the cold on September 23rd and joined other schools in SD2 at Pioneer Park to enjoy a fun day of games and community!

This event wouldn't be possible for Bitterroot to participate in without the help of the many volunteers that assisted with candy donations, bagging candy, distributing candy, and counting tickets (not to mention set up/tear down!). A very big thank you to everyone who assisted in helping Bitterroot meet our fundraising goal!

Volunteers are such an important part of each of our events throughout the year. Please know that we have been very short-handed when it comes to parent volunteers over the last few years, and this "drought" has made it difficult for the PTA board to accommodate the student/teacher needs without taking time away from their own families to volunteer for every event. We want to make each year awesome for our kids and educators, while still having the chance to enjoy our homelife, and it truly takes a village to do it all. 

If you enjoy the events that the PTA offers we need your help to keep them going, and we would love the chance for you to get to know the PTA this year, so we can work together for the betterment of our children, in the environment they spend 9 months a year in. Our next meeting will be Thursday, 10/19/17, at 6:30pm in the Bitterroot Elementary Library. Please come with an open mind and a positive mindset! We look forward to seeing you!

Reminders

  • The PTA is still in need of volunteers for Saturday Live, as well as candy and//or cash donations to stock our Saturday Live Candy Shack.  Click HERE to sign up for a 1-hour time slot.
  • The September PTA meeting is tomorrow.  Our PTA board this year is made up of a collection of parents with different backgrounds and strengths, and we look forward to meeting everyone tomorrow and working together for the benefit of the students and staff at Bitterroot Elementary.  We also have an amazing gift basket to give away to a lucky attendee!
  • The Coupon Book Fundraiser is now over, but coupon books are still available if you missed your chance or have a family member who would like one.  Please email the PTA (bitterrootpta@hotmail.com) and let us know how many books you will need, we will work with Mrs. Z to make sure you get them! 
  • Please return your sample coupon books to your children's teacher; these need to be turned in or the PTA is left to pay the cost for the unreturned book, which is technically the opposite of a fundraiser.

Candy Donations for Saturday Live

Candy requests went home in backpacks yesterday!  Please have your donations turned in to your teacher by next Thurdsay, the 21st, so that the candy can be prepped for Saturday Live!

If you aren't able to make it to the store to pick up candy please consider sending $5 - $10 with your student, these donations will be used to purchase additional candy.  We want as much candy as possible; the more candy we sell the more money we raise for Bitterroot Elementary!  We also will be offering "golden tickets" in bags again this year!

Fundraiser Clarification

The Enjoy the City fundraiser is drawing to a close, and we wanted to make sure a price clarification was posted:

The coupon books are $20.00, rather than $25.00.  The collection envelopes were pre-printed with the $25 price, and we apologize for the confusion. 

Please remember to turn in your sample book and $$$ is due back on 9/15!  Thank you for all your assistance in helping us meet our fundraising goals!

Welcome from the Bitterroot PTA,


We want to welcome back our new and returning students!  Here are a few updates on the happenings in the PTA!


We will again be selling the “Enjoy the City” coupon books to family, friends, close neighbors, and co-workers. This fundraiser is not intended to be a door-to-door activity. The PTA receives half the cost of the books and will use those funds for our family activities, classroom needs, and to continue support of “Project Lead the Way”. Students will receive a sample booklet that you can review and purchase.  Advance orders and payments are taken for additional booklets which will be delivered Monday, September 18th.

  • For those families that do not wish to sell the coupon books and do not want to be responsible for a sample booklet, we have an opt-out form included with the sample book. Sample books and envelopes will be sent home on Friday, September 1st and are due back on Friday, September 15th.  The opt-out form needs to be returned by Friday, September 8th, along with the sample book.

We are also in the planning stages for Saturday Live, and would love to get our volunteer roster filled up before the PTA meeting.  Signing up to volunteer for this event is SUPER EASY!  This link will get you there!

The first meeting of the PTA will be Thursday, September 21st at 6:30 pm in the Bitterroot Library.  Please join us!  We’d love to help you get involved with the wonderful things we’re working on to benefit the students of Bitterroot Elementary.
